Discussion of the Works of Marina Warner, Friday, April 20th

In anticipation of Marina Warner's visit to UCSB in the first week of May, the GCLR will be convening this Friday, April 20th at 6:00PM in Phelps 6206C to hear the various reading groups, which devoted themselves to the reading of a particular work of Marina Warner's, present on the main arguments of that work. This should give all attendees a betters sense of the depth and breadth of Marina Warner's long career. Books discussed will include Monuments and Maidens, Managing Monsters, Fantastic Metamorphoses, The Dragon Empress, Stranger Magic, and Scheherazade's Children. Members of the faculty board, as well students who were unable to take part in a reading group and those simply interested in Marina Warner's work, are welcome to attend. It should be edifying for all. Light refreshments will also be provided.
