Please join us for an upcoming lecture by Dr. Serena Bassi (Hamilton College), who is a candidate for the position of Assistant Professor of Translation Studies and Translation Theory in the Department of French and Italian. Her talk is entitled: "Translating like a State? Cultural Translation, Fascist Italy, and the Racial Politics of the Modern Bestseller". 
 
Serena Bassi holds a PhD in Italian and Translation Studies from the University of Warwick (2014). She is currently Visiting Professor of Italian at Hamilton College. Her research interests intersect questions of translation with queer and racial minority issues.
