GCLR recruitment fellowships ($3000) are awarded on a one-time basis to graduate students accepted into the PhD programs of GCLR-affiliated departments. Successful candidates demonstrate interdisciplinary interests in their research, with literature, theory, or philosophy being part of the mix. A maximum of three fellowships are available. The fellowships are awarded during recruitment season, but will be awarded only to applicants who end up coming to UCSB. To apply, the department’s graduate program director should send a detailed nomination letter, together with the candidate’s CV, to the GCLR Director, Sven Spieker (spieker@gss.ucsb.edu), by March 1.
